This art of keeving cider is still used throughout Normandy and Brittany for all cider making, and is known as ‘cidre boucher’, but has largely disappeared in English production. In November of 2009 we were very pleased to win a first prize at the “Concours de Cidre” at St Helen de Bondeville in Normandy.
Nick produces cider in our barn at Lancombe Cross West Milton, pressing apples collected from orchards in this and the next village; both old and commercial.
The cider is a blend of juice from several varieties including Yarlington Mill, Chisel Jersey, Dabinett and Bulmers Norman. Lancombe Rising was Highly Commended at the Bath & West Show 2011.
